Thank You for Shopping In the USA!
A great original Prohibition doctor's prescription stub for Whiskey! This stub was retained by the doctor and was open to inspection by Federal Officers! Please see photo!
From the days of Al Capone, speakeasies and moonshine this was the only legal way to drink liquor in the US!
The whiskey was prescribed for Jas. Blake, by Dr. Frank Delanco, both of Saint Louis, MO, on October 3, 1933. It was issued by the Treasury Department and when held to the light, PROHIBITION is partially watermarked. Printed in red ink is: "This stub must be clearly and legibly written, and must not be detached from the book".
The prescription stub measures 4 1/2" by 3" and is in excellent condition (bend at top)...a great ditty from the Prohibition!
This is a FANTASTIC piece of history and would be great to display in a hotel, pharmacy, museum, bar or office! I am happy to answer any questions, please feel free to email and thank you for your interest!
