    Description

Here is a 1988 Kodama Kanoh No. 20 classical guitar in excellent condition. Balanced volume and tone from its deep basses through sparkling trebles. Although Kanoh is known in Japan for pioneering shorter scale instruments, this one features a spruce sound board, rosewood back/sides, ebony fretboard,  a 650 scale, a Spanish-type 7 fan sound board support, and a 52mm nut. Action is 4mm/3mm at 12th fret.
Born in 1939. Kanoh studied under his father and started making guitars at 19 years of age. He established his own workshop in 1969.His interest and spirit of inquiry makes him explore various type of guitars such like 19th century romantic guitar, viuhela and baroque lute.He says the most important thing for the guitar is its clarity. He is also a pioneer in making shorter scale models in Japan.
Kodama Kanoh guitars have a distinctive beautiful sound. In Japan it's outrageously expensive and extravagant price for a fine hand made guitar is quite rare. Even Yuichi Imai guitars, which many college professors of the classical guitar and professional classical guitarists are using at the present, have a retail price of only 000 in Japan . The highest Sakurai model is only about 000 as well . Yet a new Kodama Kanoh guitar has an asking price of 1,800,000 JPY, that is about 18,000 USD. German classical guitarist Siegfried Behrend played and recorded with a Kodama Kanoh guitar. Because he has a steady supply of buyers in Japan, he is not well known in the U.S.
The guitar will be shipped in its original hard case.
