    Description

    Here is an excellent condition,
    1912 Jose Ramirez
    Spanish Walnut classical guitar.
This is a very early Ramirez classical guitar. It was made in the Jose Ramirez workshop at Concepcion Jeronima 2, Madrid.
Ramirez guitars of this era were not signed. This guitar would probably have been built by one of the famous luthiers who started their careers in the workshop of Jose Ramirez the First.
Our research shows that the guitar was probably built by Julian Gomez Ramirez prior to his departure from Jose Ramirez to setup his own shop in Paris. The guitar uses his style of bridge, Spanish heel and internal bracing.
This hand crafted guitar was built using solid Bastogne, also known as Spanish Walnut, for the back and sides, a mahogany neck and a solid spruce top. The binding is maple and the head stock cap is made using Spanish Walnut. The guitar has a beautiful Ramirez signature rosette.
The overall condition of the guitar is excellent. The guitar has been superbly restored using nitrocellulose lacquers. The guitar had no cracks aside from one very small shrinkage line in the top near the fretboard which was repaired professionally. This guitar is 108 years old and has now been put into a condition to last another 108 years.
Scale length on this guitar is 645 millimeters. This scale length gives the instrument good volume and sustain while staying easy to play. Nut width is 52 millimeters.
The fret board and original brass frets are in very good overall condition. Action on the 12th fret low E string is 3.5 millimeters and the 12th fret high E string measures 3.0 millimeters with room for adjustment.
The guitar also features vintage styled brand new Sloane high gear ratio tuners in a brass finish with ebony buttons.
The original label shows that this is a 1912 Jose Ramirez I. This is a unique label that was only used from 1912 through 1914.
The guitar will be carefully packed and shipped in its hard shell case inside a sturdy box.
